I think in this song he is telling someone that he will always be there for them.  Through everything that goes on hes going to be right by there side.  All I remember when I first heard this song was when 9/11 hit.  And that this song was played through all major events.  It was like an anthem during that time.  I thought it was an up-bringing of the United States during this time.

(I wasn't sure if the song had to be a song that is in spanish, but I picked this song cause my mom listens to it)
